This particular Ford would have ended up as a new reef if it wasn’t for the quick thinking of a few Turkish, specifically Istanbul, locals.
Apparently, the tourists who rented the car forgot to put on the handbrake when they visited a local museum. The car then started to move backwards and was on its way to the Bosphorus Strait.
Nearby locals then thought of a simple yet ingenious way of saving the car from the brink, sitting on the car’s hood to balance the weight.
The plan was so effective, some of the locals even had the time to check their phones and even take a cigarette break (as you’ll see in the video below).
Thankfully the fire department arrived and brought a crane in order for the car to be lifted away from the edge.
