People in Vancouver are generally nice and friendly, but the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) takes speeding seriously. It’s not funny going over the speed limit and crashing into other motorists or bystanders.
Maybe the air is just different up there, as the Vancouver PD decided to poke a little fun at the incident. In a post on their Facebook Page, the VPD posted a photo of the Italian sports car going on a flatbed carrier along with a snap of the speed gun reading 102 km/h. It came with a caption saying “Lamborghini – $275,000, Speeding Ticket for doing over 100 km/h – $368, Watching your sports car with dealer plates get towed on a 7 day impound – Priceless.”
A 30-year-old driver of a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan in Vancouver was recently flagged down for speeding. The driver was going 102 km/h in a 50 km/h road. He was slapped with CAD 368 (about PHP14.3k) fine when he was caught going twice the speed limit. Local police also decided it was proper to impound the car for 7 days.
With the car being fitted with dealer plates, it meant the driver was either a customer going on a test driver or someone who works for the dealership.
