Chevrolet is showcasing the Autobots (in car form) from the upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth installment of the Transformers film series, at the 2014 New York International Auto Show.
The movie will be in theaters on June 27, 2014.
The company says that alongside the iconic, yellow Camaro playing Autobot ‘Bumblebee,’ the new film will feature the new Corvette Stingray, which converts to Autobot ‘Crosshairs,’ a Trax crossover and a rally version of Sonic hatchback.
“The Transformers movies have been a great partnership for Chevrolet by allowing us to introduce our vehicles to new fans, young and old, around the world,” said Tim Mahoney, chief marketing officer for Global Chevrolet.
“Now for the fourth time, you’ll see a Camaro as a heroic Autobot, a fitting role for one of the stars of Chevrolet’s lineup.”
The movie will actually have two versions of ‘Bumblebee’ – the other being a 1967 Camaro SS.
Age of Extinction is set four years after the events of Dark Side of the Moon.
Mark Wahlberg replaces Shia LaBeouf for the lead role playing Cade Yeager, a single father of two kids who stumbles upon an old truck that is actually a Transformer.
The movie is directed by Michael Bay and produced by Steven Spielberg, who both handled the first three Transformers films.
