The University of the Philippines Gears and Pinions held the 19th Rev Up! Diliman Motorshow at the Palma Hall Parking Lot, UP Diliman, Quezon City last March 8. The auto show started as a biennial event in 1987 with an internal combustion engine on display. Since then, it has celebrated the students’ appreciation for cars more than 20 years.
This year’s event featured a wide range of vehicles from vintage models up to the latest. One of the many attractions for the vintage models were the custom Porsche 550 Spyder replica in Gulf livery, yellow flared Toyota Starlet, the hipster inspired blue colored Volkwagen Kombi Van, and the classic Mini Cooper. Aside from the vintage models, the auto show also featured new cars that had its own respective upgrades in engine, sound system, and detailing. Adding to the list are the off-road ready monster pickup trucks like the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, and a lot more.
The show also had Remote Control Drift showdown courtesy of the Philippine RC Drifters. Moreover, a Tomica display from It’s All About Cars were also part of the show and indie bands from the UP Music Circle entertained the crowd with awesome performances.
The 19th Diliman Motor Show attracted a total of 81 cars, pickups and SUVs to the UP campus to share their love for gears, pinions and everything that makes a car move.
