They say there are no friends at 9,000 rpm. Well, this video proves them wrong.
At the very beginning of the ADAC GT Masters race, six cars figured in a horrendous pileup at the home straight of the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in Germany.
After the dust settled, the drivers can be seen helping each other out of their mangled race cars.
The worst hit was Danish driver Nicki Thiim, whose Audi R8 barrel rolled after colliding with the track’s safety barrier. Fortunately, neither Thiim nor the other drivers were seriously injured in the crash.
