Apparently, it isn’t only in the Philippines where Kia is expanding its presence in basketball to promote its vehicles. The Korean carmaker just inked a deal with Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James to become its brand ambassador for its K900 (Quoris) flagship sedan.
Terms for the multimillion-dollar contract have not been revealed but the company did reveal that ten-time NBA All-Star James will appear in TV ads. But we’re pretty sure we’ll see ‘King James’ rolling around with his new Kia K900.
Kia is also the official automotive partner of the NBA for the eighth consecutive year, designating the Optima as the official vehicle of the NBA. The carmaker also presents several programs of the league such as the Perforance Awards, Community Assist, Race to the MVP Ladder, and Rookie Ladder.
Aside from the league, it has also made itself a partner of several teams such as the Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Charlotte Hornets, Orlando Magic, Chicaco Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trailblazers, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, and Los Angeles Clippers.
James is the second player to be tapped by Kia to personally endorse its cars, Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin is a brand ambassador for the Optima sedan as well.
In the Philippines, the Korean brand is fielding their own team to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) called the Kia Sorento led by National pride and International boxing personality, and politician Manny Pacquiao. The team is set to make its debut this weekend at the Philippine Arena.
