Vision Petron, the award-winning national art student competition of Petron Corporation, challenges student-artists with the 2014 theme “Lakbay Panata: My Journey, My Pledge”.

The theme aims itself in nation building by portraying small acts of kindness not only with one another, but also to the community and to the environment. Examples of such acts can be in the form of helping the elderly, conserving the use of natural resources, or volunteering in community services.

Participants can create their art in water or oil based paint, colored photography, t-shirt design, and a new category, video making, the first student art competition to recognize this emerging medium.

The competition is open to all students aged 16-28 and are currently enrolled in a regular university or college course and is also open to those in tutorial art or photography classes as well. Those interested in joining and interested in getting more details can download an application form at their website or check out the Vision Petron Facebook page. Deadline of entries is on Aug. 22, 2014 at Petron bulk plants nationwide and on Aug. 29, 2014 at the Vision Petron Project Secretariat located at Studio 5 Designs, 28 Paseo de Roxas cor. Jupiter Street, Bel-Air Village, Makati City.
