It has a 5.2-liter DOHC V12 that cranks out 450 PS, the engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, has 4-disc brakes and underneath, it has a fully independent suspension system. No it is not a sports car or a grand tourer, it is Lamborghini’s classic SUV, the LM002.
One fine example of the Italian SUV is currently up for sale by RM Auctions, with a price tag that ranges from USD 175,000 – 225,000 (about PHP 7.8 million – 10 million). It may have been built for ruggedness but this two-owner, 28,968 km LM002 was kept pristine throughout its ownerships. It was mostly kept by its second owner, Robert F. Meyer of Hoquiam, Washington who had the car for 23 years.
Its brutish exterior is painted in red and even though the car is nearly 25 year olds, it still uses the original Pirelli Scorpion tires that the Italian tire-maker specifically made for the LM002. Aboard the cabin, those familiar with the insides of a Countach will find that the LM002 is similarly trimmed like it. The black interior was mostly kept original, apart from the new wood trim.
If you happen to have enough bonuses from this year’s Christmas, why not try your luck in bidding for this classic SUV from the House of the Raging Bull. The car will be auctioned on January 16, 2015, Friday with Lot # 234.
