In an effort to give law enforcement officers an additional set of eyes, Ford Motor Company has introduced the Police Interceptor surveillance mode.
Simply put, the surveillance mode uses a rearview camera and radar to detect a person approaching the vehicle from behind. Upon detection, the system automatically sounds a ‘chime’, rolls up the driver’s side window, locks all doors and flashes exterior lighting. Thus, giving the officers added situational awareness and a first line of defense from potential assailants.
With this surveillance mode technology, Ford has earned the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executive’s Award for its contribution toward improving law enforcement officer security.
Do you think that our Philippine National Police needs this certain surveillance technology? Before sharing your thoughts, watch the video below.
