As with all seven movies before it, the eighth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise will play host to heaps of wheel-to-wheel action. In an attempt to change things up – and hopefully top the ones before it – the crew behind Fast 8 find themselves filming some upcoming scenes in Iceland. The production team now give us a sneak peek into the film by releasing photos of the cars they’ve been using for filming.
Apart from the odd RX-7 or Chevelle he could be seen driving in previous movies, nothing really says ‘Dominic Toretto’ other than a black 70’s Dodge Charger. For racing on ice, Vin Diesel’s chariot finds another iteration through an altered wheelbase (which looks quite lengthened compared to stock) as well as fender flares housing extra wide wheels and tires. Judging from the bullet holes on the car, the charger will definitely see some action.
Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), the lady alpha of the group, will be behind the wheel of a Local Motors Rally Fighter. The Rally Fighter looks to be a coupe body with full off-road suspension. Complete with a light bar and a bullbar up front, the Rally Fighters looks most at home in the ice compared to the rest of the lineup.
Perhaps as loud as the person driving it, Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) will be seen driving an orange Lamborghini Murcielago that sticks out like a sore thumb in the pure white landscape.
Topping the lineup off, the crew appears to get their hands on some military hardware. Tej Parker (Ludacris) will be rolling on a tank-like vehicle called the ‘ripsaw’ while Hobbes (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson) will be driving the Ice Ram, an armored truck on tread tires with a strange crane-like contraption behind it.
While we’ve yet to have details on what exactly these machines will be doing, perhaps it’s safe to say the next Fast 8 movie will definitely have something different in store for the audiences.
